What is an EPF Calculator?
An EPF Calculator (Employees’ Provident Fund Calculator) helps employees in India estimate their retirement corpus by projecting monthly contributions (employee EPF and employer EPF share) and interest credited to their EPF account. This tool excludes the employer’s 8.33% EPS portion (which funds pension and earns no interest) and focuses on the EPF balance that compounds.
How to use the EPF Calculator
- Enter your age and retirement age.
- Enter monthly Basic + DA and your current EPF balance.
- Keep Employee EPF % at 12% (or change if 10% applies); add optional VPF % if you contribute more.
- Set expected annual increment % and the EPF interest rate you want to model.
- Click Calculate. Toggle the yearly table to see a year-wise breakdown. Export with Download CSV.
Quick example
If Basic+DA = ₹25,000 and Employee EPF = 12%, your monthly employee contribution is ₹3,000. Employer contributes another 12% (= ₹3,000), but ₹1,249.5 (8.33% of the ₹15,000 EPS cap) goes to EPS; the remaining ₹1,750.5 goes to your EPF balance and earns interest.
Glossary
- EPF: Interest-bearing retirement savings account.
